Ingredients

  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (not natural/runny style)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 cup graham cracker crumbs
  • 1 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. 1

Line a 9x13 baking pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang on the sides for easy removal.

  2. 2

Mix peanut butter, melted butter, graham cracker crumbs, powdered sugar, and vanilla until well combined. It should hold together when pressed.

1 cup creamy peanut butter1/2 cup unsalted butter2 cup graham cracker crumbs1 1/2 cup powdered sugar1 tsp vanilla extract
  3. 3

Press the mixture firmly and evenly into the prepared pan. Use the bottom of a measuring cup for a smooth, compact layer.

Press hard. A loose layer crumbles when you cut it.

  4. 4

Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth. About 90 seconds total.

    1 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Don't rush. Overheated chocolate seizes and gets grainy. Low and slow.

  5. 5

Pour melted chocolate over the peanut butter layer. Spread evenly with an offset spatula. Sprinkle flaky salt on top.

    1/4 tsp flaky sea salt
  6. 6

Refrigerate at least 1 hour until chocolate is firm. Lift out using parchment overhang. Cut into 16 bars.
